Holly Wilson’s upcoming exhibition represents an epic journey you won’t want to miss!

“A Foot in Two Worlds, A Path of My Own” | Holly Wilson | February 2-21, 2017

Holly Wilson
February 2-21, 2017
Special Artist Reception: Thursday, February 2, 2017
Time: 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Bonner David Galleries

Featuring her monumental work “Bloodline” Holly Wilson traces her biracial personal history back to her oldest native ancestor of the Delaware roll along the Trail of Tears. She explores the liminal space between her upbringing and the stories she remembers from her childhood. Using bronze stick people, known as cigar figures (formed from real cigars), each generation is grouped together upon a locust branch, representing her own family tree, all connected by a similar lineage. Constantly transversing one side of the racial divide or the other, art has helped her discover her own place in the world. Showcasing more of Wilson’s works than ever before seen in Arizona, this exhibition represents an epic journey you won’t want to miss.

Wilson recently discussed her work “A View From Within Under The Skin” in a video, to view this work and listen to Wilson’s insights, please click here.

Jane Jones’ “Glorious Survivors” Debuts January 19

"Glorious Survivors" | Jane Jones | January 19 - February 1, 2017

“Glorious Survivors” | Jane Jones | January 19 – February 1, 2017

There’s a beauty that’s evident behind the splendor in each Jane Jones painting. Every canvas tells a story, and each flower she paints represents survival, not only as a plant, but for what that strength portrays about the human condition. A staunch environmentalist, Jones is a hearty gardener; and she has a special attachment to many of the blossoms she paints since she’s grown them herself. Throughout the seasons, she carefully tends to her garden as well as her studio, creating meaning through the lasting depictions of the survivors she raises. Her 2017 exhibition is essential viewing for all of us working to survive.

Jane Jones’ “Glorious Survivors” will be on display January 19 – February 1, 2017.

We hope you will join us for a Special Artist Reception: Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at Bonner David Galleries.
