The old adage is true, as the rains of April have brightened the walls of Bonner David Galleries with flowers of all kinds. Hyper-realist floral painter Jane Jonesprovides new work rendering the flowers she loves to tend in her own garden. Dyana Hesson, known for her larger than life desert botanicals, showcases some of her favorite blossoms of the West. Still life artist Cary Ennis has created classical works that lovers of traditional art will love and crave and Benjamin Shamback who also paints traditional still life’s but on copper, his work always demands a second look. In addition, guest artist,Victoria Herrerawill debut on the walls of Bonner David, with her moody and ethereal flowers. The varying styles of each artist complement each other to create a beautiful array of florals throughout the gallery space. The show opens with a special reception on Thursday May 8, 2014 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. The show will hang in the gallery through June 5, 2014. Celebrating Mother’s Day has never been as much fun as with these lovely flowers of art that will never wilt.
Lately there’s been too much talk about boycotts and the negativity surrounding policies in Arizona. While no laws have yet taken effect, the boycotts and attitudes have already hurt our beautiful state and particularly the businesses that rely on tourism. Today we had a breath of fresh air from some visitors from Texas who, courtesy of a Dallas radio station and a foresighted travel planner, brought 40 people to Arizona, not only to tour our lovely state, but to provide some much-needed economic revenue to businesses. We appreciate such efforts! Whatever your politics, Arizona remains a wonderful place to vacation, convention, and tour. We are proud to have been a small business in Arizona now having recently celebrated our 8th anniversary here on Main Street. We invite all our out of state friends to make a trip to Arizona in the near future, enjoy the beauty of our state and stop by to visit with us at Bonner David and see what wonderful artistic sights we have for sale!
We were so excited to have Collen Nyanhongo sculpting in the gallery! Last Saturday Collen created “All For You”, which was sold the same day to a collector who had come to observe. Witnessing the sculpting process and his attention to every detail only gives one more admiration for Collen’s stunning work. For those of you who were not able to come by, we thought we would bring the gallery to you. We know you will enjoy this video of Collen working as much as we enjoyed observing him!
If we missed you last week for the “Infinite Harmony” opening, the stunning Shona Sculptures are still at the gallery and will be on display for the next few weeks.
